PECUC has
begged the Best Contingence Plan Award' 2001 for it's outstanding
achievement in Community Based Disaster Preparedness
(CBDP) in Benupur village of Balianta Block, Khurda District from Orissa State Disaster
Mitigation Authority (OSDMA.)
In order to face prepare the community to face and the harm of disaster in future PECUC has started the process of CBDP in
Balianta Block of Khurda District. At the first phase CCP was developed for the Benupur
village of Benupur Panchayat as a model village with the technical support from UN
House. Other Grampanchayat are covered during the year 200 under this Programme.
PECUC is also mobilising youths to form Gopabandhu
Swechhasebi Bahini with an aim to create a cadre base at community level to prepare the
people before any disaster, to rescue & help the people during & post disaster
period and more over to facilitate the development process in the area. |
