Sanjukta is an ideal daughter-in- law of her family. She lives with her husband, 3 daughters’s and father –in- law and mother-in – law. Her husband working in a press. Elder daughter studied in +2 , second one in 9th and younger one in class 7th.Before come to election she was a member of SHG group and in 2003 she became the treasurer of the SHG group. On basis of her educational qualification and OBC category village people nominate Sanjukta as ward member of the village Benupur. By GOD grace she won the election as uncontested. Sanjukta’s desire was to do something for the people. But the medium of communication between Sanjukta and people was unknown to her. To avoid this she eagerly attended all the meeting and training organised by PECUC and Panchayat. Afterwards she was chosen secretary of ALIBHA EWR’s federation in 2012. AS a secretary she keep Intercourse communication with 15 panchayat and provide as much as facilities to the people. She regularly visits to the Anganwadi centre and schools. She there enquiry the food security of the children .In spite of this she gave more importance to provide justice to women who are treated in worse in the family. Such a case happened in the past.
A lady name Queen Mohapatra, Age-23 year’s old daughter of Laxmidhar Mohapatra of Benupur village got married to Nimai Mohapatra of Jagatsinghpur Dist, Queen has a 3 year old daughter. Since her marriage she became the victim of domestic violence, reason “Dowry”. Her in-laws gave her mental as well as physical torture in the family. Days went but torture on her didn’t stop. Finally her patience went in vain and packed her bags and came to her father house. But in last November, her sister-in-law marriage was finalized for that the mediator of Queen’ marraige and Nimai’s uncle came to Queen’s House to take her back. But Queen did not agreed, so they tried a lot to convince her and her family members at last they were able to convince her father and gave assurance that her in-laws will not torture anymore. Through mutual understanding between two families she was forced to go there and she took part in her sister –in – law’s marriage. One day shocking news was came that to Queen Father that Queen has burned herself. Victim’s Father lodged an FIR in Benupur, the SP forwarded it Jagatsinghpur Police station, for further inquiry. When Sanjukta heard about this news, she informed other EWR’s and all of them went to Queen father’s house, EWR’s gave their condolence and assured them that they will; fight to give justice to Queen and will punish the culprits. The EWR’s went to Jagatsinghpur to know the actual cause of her death, then EWR’s and Queen’s parents filed a case in the Women’ Commission, the immediate action was that the Jagatsinghpur Police arrested Nimai. After lot of hardship they were able to give little relaxation to her parents, but still Sanjukta & her team is fighting to give complete justice to the Queen’ parents.
Like this case she always came forward to protest against the violence and harassment and gave justice to women and girls. With the help of ALIBHA FEDERATION and MASS her main motive is to demolish women violence from the society.
