Name of the Village :- Kodakhaman , G.P :- Jamunaposi ,Block- Patna, Dist:- Keonjhar

Kodakhaman village comes under Jamunaposi GP and Patna block of Keonjhar district. The total population of the village is 800. The inhabitants of the village mainly depend upon agriculture for their livelihood. Those having no land are working as daily labourers to maintain their family.

In one hamlet (Munda Sahi)of Kodakhaman the Anganwadi Center was not there, and the children were sitting outside in open. In the rainy and summer season, they used to face a lot of problems. Looking at the situation, the Child Protection Committee members gave application for setting up a new Anganwadi Center in the hamlet. The BDO accepted the proposal and sanctioned fund for the new Anganwadi center.

After that the Revenue Inspector (RI) visited the spot and gave demarcation for construction of new Anganwadi Center and the digging work soon started. One man whose name is Ganeswar Mohanta stopped the construction work and claimed that the land belonged to him though it was a Govt land. For many years and since many generations, his family has been settled there.

The villagers convinced him but in vain. He was not in a mood to listen to them. The villagers told about him to The CPC (Child Protection Committee) members. The members of CPC talked with him and said the place was convenient for the children to access the Anganwadi Center and it was nearer to the school. If the center would be set up there then more children will show interest to come to the center.

After continuous interaction with Mr. Ganesh at last he agreed to leave the spot for Anganwadi Center. Now 75% of the construction work for Mini Anganwadi center has been completed and the colouring is in process. The villagers are very happy and they are highly appreciating the work of the members of Child Protection Committee.
